If you have been a Creator Studio user for a while now, then you should be familiar with the Dashboard interface that you are presented with when logging into Creator Studio. In Fastr Frontend, the "Dashboard" is now known as Content Control, and has been completely redesigned, offering more organization options than ever before. It even paves the way for new functionality - such as scheduling your content and one-click translations via our Distributor capabilities!
The first thing to note is the new hierarchy of how Experiences are organized in Content Control. From the highest level down, it works like this:
Pages > Content Slots > Experiences
So you start by creating a Page, then add a Content Slot to that Page, and finally, add an Experience to that Content Slot. The options that are available to you are as follows:
- Copy Code button - allows you to copy the code for your Content Slot so you can publish the Slot and Experience within it to your site
- Add New Experience - lets you create a new Experience that will be automatically added to the Content Slot that this button lives in
- Preview & Publish - gives you a quick Preview of your Experience and allows you to Publish it to your site (more information on this process below)
- Duplicate Experience - lets you duplicate/clone your Experience
- Move Experience - allows you to Move your Experience to a different Page/Content Slot
- Schedule - will allow you to schedule when your Experience goes live - coming later in 2023!
- Delete Experience - lets you permanently remove your Experience from your account
Edit, Preview and Publish an Experience
Once you have added an Experience to a Content Slot, you can edit it by clicking on the Preview & Publish button as seen in the screenshot above. After you click on that, you will see the following screen:
From here, you can Edit your Experience via the purple button and be taken to whichever Editor the Experience was made in, or click Publish to receive this pop-up:
Hitting "Confirm" will officially Push and Publish your Experience, and enable you to select the Copy Code button. Clicking that will copy a short line of code to your clipboard which you can then embed into your eCommerce platform or CMS from there.
After you hit Publish for the first time, that button will change to say "Update" instead, and you can use that to Push any updates that you might make in your Experience to its live version on your website.
Publishing with Content Slots
Thanks to the power of Content Control, publishing content to your site should be more efficient than ever before, and updating live content should be much easier than what previous users of Creator Studio are used to.
For those of you that have used Creator Studio, you will remember that you previously would use the Copy Code button for a specific Experience to publish that to your site. Then, if you wanted to swap that Experience for a different one, you would need to copy the code for that new Experience, and have that replace the old Experience's code in your site.
With Content Control, you no longer need to do that. Now, you can publish a Content Slot's code to your site, then seamlessly swap Experiences into that Slot whenever you want right within the platform. To do this, you just need to have multiple Experiences within one Content Slot, like so:
The Experience that is currently live on your site will have a red "Live" flag on it. If you wanted to make it so that a different Experience becomes the live one in your Content Slot, simply click the Preview & Publish button on one of those other non-live Experiences. Once in there, if you then click Publish, you should see a window like this:
Hitting Confirm will then set the selected Experience as the live Experience in your Content Slot, and should immediately start appearing in place of the previous one on your website. Again, this should make publishing to your site much easier, and eliminate how much time you need to spend dropping our code into your site!
